My FABC Story + Thoughts
Hello readers.
Welcome to my first post. Sadly this won't be a very cheery or lax post, but I feel it is important that you know me as a person and what I stand for before I share anything else.
If you are reading this then you are most likely a player on the website, fabc.com. Like me, you probably entered the site hoping it was a remake of pixiehollow.com, an online world website that Disney closed in 2013. This may sound silly, especially coming from someone of my age, but Pixiehollow was such a special place to me when I was an upcoming teen. I loved that the friendships online were genuine, and that people liked me for me. I enjoyed that I could be creative and express myself through style. That website got me through dark times, and I was hoping that FABC could bring me the same kind of solace that Pixiehollow did.
Sadly, I was disappointed.
Pretty early on when I joined fabc I made really great friends. Most of them have been on the site far more longer than me, and because of their experience on the game and their morality, they were looked up to by a majority of the community. They were kind, helpful, and respectful to everyone, but were not afraid to put their foot down when someone was breaking rules. I admired this, and wondered why they weren't given more power on the site. They definitely had the maturity to handle it, and their connections with other players helped them understand how to make the game better for everyone. The more I played, the more I understood how this website runs.
Just a disclaimer: I am not writing this to point fingers, and I'm not writing this to upset others purposely, but I have a voice, and I am the type of person that speaks up when I believe something is wrong. And I found out that something was very wrong when several of my friends were being punished and persecuted left and right.
Fairies, Sparrowmen, human beings, what does good leadership look like to you? Is it selfish and condescending or is it selfless and respectful? Does a considerate leader press the mute/ban button because it's the easier thing to do, or do they think about their actions and who they would be affecting before they make a decision? Is mature leadership led fully by emotion or does it consider the truth? You tell me.
I hope that one day fabc is what pixiehollow was once to me, but right now it is not; it is a place full of hurt and confusion. Its leadership is corrupt. And I realize I might be punished for this, but I don't care. Sometimes you have to stand up for what is right, even if it takes away some of your own rights.
Spread peace, joy, and love.
